GPS Online Photo
Last updated: September 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GPS Online Photo (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. GPS Online Photo is designed as an on-device utility tool for capturing photographs with geotagged stamps (GPS coordinates, address, timestamp, altitude, and weather information).
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Location Data (Precise and Coarse GPS)
- What We Collect: Latitude, longitude, altitude, heading, speed, and accuracy data obtained via your device’s GPS and Google Play Services Location Provider.
- Why We Collect It:
- To calculate and imprint real-time location details onto your photo watermark / stamp.
- To perform reverse-geocoding (converting coordinates into readable address details such as street, locality, city, state, and country).
- Storage and Retention: Location data is processed in real time when you use the camera viewfinder or capture a photo. We do not log, track, or store your historical movement paths on external servers.
B. Camera and Images
- What We Access: Your device’s camera hardware and photo capture capabilities.
- Why We Access It: To allow you to preview and take photos within the application.
- Storage and Retention: Photos you take are saved directly to your device’s local photo gallery / camera roll. We do not upload your photos or videos to any remote server or cloud database.
C. Photo Library / Storage Access
- What We Access: Read and write permissions for device storage / photo media library (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGEon Android,NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescriptionon iOS). - Why We Access It: To save the stamped image directly to your device’s photo library and display recently taken captures within the app.
D. Device and Sensor Data
- Sensors: Compass and orientation sensors (if available) are used locally to calculate compass heading/direction stamped on the overlay.
- Network State: Checked locally to verify whether reverse-geocoding and map tile requests can be completed.
2. Third-Party Services & APIs
The App interacts with select third-party services strictly to provide core features:
- Reverse Geocoding & Maps Providers:
- Google Maps Platform / OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): When generating address text from GPS coordinates or rendering map previews, latitude and longitude coordinates are sent securely over HTTPS to resolve the physical address or retrieve map tiles.
- These third-party services process queries in accordance with their respective privacy policies:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or location information to any data brokers, ad networks, or analytics trackers.
3. Data Storage and Security
- Local Processing: All photo compositing, watermarking, and stamp generation occur locally on your device.
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or provide personal identity information (e.g., name, phone number, or email address) to use the App.
- Security: We adhere to standard industry best practices to ensure all external API requests (e.g., reverse geocoding) use encrypted HTTPS connections.
4. Permissions & User Control
You can grant or revoke permissions at any time through your device settings:
- Location Permission: Settings → Apps → GPS Online Photo → Permissions → Location. (You may select “While using the app” or “Precise location”).
- Camera Permission: Settings → Apps → GPS Online Photo → Permissions → Camera.
- Photos / Media Storage Permission: Settings → Apps → GPS Online Photo → Permissions → Photos and videos / Storage.
Note: Disabling camera or location permissions will prevent the App from capturing photos or displaying location stamps.
5. Children’s Privacy
GPS Online Photo is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate measures.
